RE: Crisis Centre Annual General Meeting (AGM)

For your information, the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of B.C. (Crisis Centre) will be held on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Crisis Centre (CC) business office, located at 763 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC. Please join us for refreshments prior to the AGM starting at 5:30pm.


We are pleased to announce that Dan Cox, Ph. D, Assistant Professor of Counselling Psychology Program at UBC will be the keynote presentation.

Crisis Centre volunteers attending this AGM will be given in-service credit. Please RSVP to Tamara at contact@crisiscentre.bc.ca as seats are limited.

Business at the AGM will include the presentation of the Crisis Centre’s Audited Financial Statements, appointment of the Auditor for 2017, election of the Board of Directors and bylaw changes necessary for compliancy under British Columbia’s New Societies Act. Here is a summary of the bylaw changes.

At the meeting, there will also be a Special Resolution to change the Crisis Centre’s fiscal year:

“Be it resolved that the financial year end of the Crisis Centre be moved from December 31st and fixed at March 31st of every calendar year from 2018 forward.”

The following existing Board members have let their names stand for 2017-2018: Carol Andison, Jodi Moss, Morgan Gough, Bob Meyer, Mike Giannelli, Lynn Thorsell, Sarah Clark, Doug Querns. Two new individuals have accepted a nomination to be elected to the Crisis Centre Board: Dan Cox and Jude Platzer.


The 47th Annual Report and 2016 Audited Financial Statements will be available at the AGM.
