safeTALK for the Queer Community – January 26

The Crisis Centre, in collaboration with QMUNITY, are hosting a safeTALK focused for queer service providers, community members and allies.

safeTALK is a half-day training to increase suicide alertness.  As a safeTALK trained suicide alert helper, you will be better able to:

  • Identify people who have thoughts of suicide
  • Move beyond common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide
  • Apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) to connect a person with suicide thoughts to suicide first aid resources
