Together We Give Hope

World Suicide Prevention Day 2013

Posted by & filed under News.

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 marks World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). On this day, the Crisis Centre will launch its 2nd annual live virtual event, an online hub for events and updates throughout the Lower Mainland. This will be open to our stakeholders and the public. This virtual event is publicized on our official Facebook page and we will also be live tweeting via @CrisisCentreBC throughout the day, connecting with our community members on a virtual platform.

This “online hub” also serves as a call to action for communities to join together and collaborate in supporting suicide prevention and to share their initiatives and ideas with us. We ask that every home, community, business and service organization take practical steps towards becoming suicide safer.

WSPD initiatives that will be posted on September 10th, 2013:

– Conferences, open day events, educational seminars or public lectures and panels;

– Articles for national, regional and community newspapers, blogs and magazines;

– Interviews and speaking spots on radio and television;

– Memorial services, events, candlelight ceremonies;

– Cultural or spiritual events, fairs or exhibitions;

– Brochures, posters and other practical information.
