During these monthly events, you will have the opportunity to meet and connect with others who have faced similar suicide-related losses. Our walk aims to create a supportive community where participants can share their experiences and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. You will be able to engage with people who understand the unique pain of losing someone to suicide.

Our community emphasizes listening and validation, recognizing each person’s grief as unique and deeply important. Walking in this beautiful natural forest allows those attending to invite the grounding and comforting power of nature to be present with the shared grief of the group.

We hope to foster unity, strength, and a sense of peace and collective healing.

This event will take place at Pacific Spirit Park at the park entrance at 16th & Sasamat on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Who is it for?

Anyone who has lost someone to suicide and wants to join others in building a supportive community.

Please allow some time for you to arrive and park if needed. The event will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions, so come prepared for the weather (raincoat, umbrella waterproof shoes if needed).

Important Information

Our events prioritize creating a safe and supportive space in various ways, including guidelines to avoid discussing graphic details of loss to prevent re traumatizing others. We recognize that those in the very early stages of grief may still feel overwhelmed by discussions surrounding suicide loss. We encourage you to check in with yourself before attending to ensure you feel ready for this kind of group experience

This session is facilitated by Jesse Cervenka and co-facilitated by suicide loss survivors. Jesse is the Bereavement Coordinator at the Crisis Centre of BC as well as an intern Counsellor at the Vancouver Hospice Society, where he helps run various groups and provides one-on-one grief counselling.

Our Impact The topic and word "suicide" is not so scary after taking a training from the Crisis Centre of BC. I'm grateful to have been here today, and am hopeful that I can help people in the future. safeTALK participant, Agassiz
