The Crisis Centre is honoured to be the recipient of $5,330 from the Memory Remains Fundraiser – an event organized by Kylee and Jeff Lapierre (pictured in above photo with their son and Crisis Centre’s Executive Director, Ian Ross). With approximately 250+ people in attendance, along with Canucks’ Dale Weise, the evening was a great success.

Kylee and Jeff Lapierre have been organizing this fundraiser for a few years now to honour their late brother/brother-in-law, Trevor, who died by suicide. Kylee and Jeff talked about the importance of suicide awareness and prevention in the community – and how the Crisis Centre’s programs and services are a lifeline for people in distress. Our own Crisis Centre volunteers, Aman Sharma (past Community Education Volunteer) and Kim Sumpter (current Community Education Volunteer) also shared their inspiring stories from the frontline.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the Crisis Centre’s Youth Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Program, which empowers young people with the skills and tools to help themselves, and their peers, to cope with stress and deal with crisis.
